The woods were always secluded and welcomingly dark at night it was a release from the cramp claustrophobic life of the city which Maria desperately needed .The moon light warmed her blood, as she danced barefoot beneath the cresant shape pretending to be a wood nymph.She was deep in her fantasy imagining she had heard a human about to stumble upon her when she really heard the cracking of a branch, and the crunch of fall leaves. She had no clue where the echoing sound came from and had nowhere to hide so she remained rooted like the trees she stood beside.
  "What do we have here?" said a voice behind her ,she quickly wheeled around.Then felt a hand tighten against her mouth "A midnight snack ." the voice whispered in her ear. Maria began to whimper to the pleasure of her attacker,who found it amusing and pressed himself closer to her withering form.He enjoyed hearing her heart pound, pumping blood to that life sustaining vessel and instantly became hungry.He let himself toy with her, Maria eyes widened in grim understanding as she felt the touch of his fangs on her neck.He smiled when he recieved the reply he was hoping for as she thrashed hard, and bit his hand desperate to be freed from death's grip .
    He released her, laughing as she fell to the ground then stood quickly and took off running ,knowing she would not get far. Her sobs filled the night giving him a nice trail to follow, the trees blurred as he moved with inhuman agility enjoying the chase and waiting,just waiting for the inevitable.Then he heard it ,a very familiar sound a nice solid thump, he frowned thinking it had taken the last one much longer to trip, but hey what was unlife without disappointments. He made a mental note to  pick one who was a little more spry next time then returned thougths to his current prey.He almost could not eat her, he was so disgusted  yet food was food. He lifted her helplessly to her feet slightly suspending her off the ground with just her toes touching the earth, he breathed in deeply increasing his hunger with the delightful aroma. Sweat gave her a nice musk,it combined well with something that smelled like roses her body wash he thought not taking long to ponder it.The last smell clinging to her body was blood where she had hurt herself falling, it drove his senses into overdrive!
  He had to have the wonderful taste of sangre in his mouth he was so possessed with longing he did not notice his victim stirring.She looked into his eyes with pure hatred, her ferocity cutting into him making her for the first time appear beautiful to him and increasing his pleasure tenfold.He could no longer control himself he kissed her tenderly, the gentleness of the action shocking Maria into submission.Her body stilled as she allowed him to moisten her dry lips her fighting stolen from her along with all emotion then came pain. He bit into her lip drawing blood she gasped as his kiss became deeper rindering her breathless her thoughts lost rationality logic fading with her life.She was barely aware of the whispering ,someone was talking to her trying to get her attention. She could not make out clearly what was being said it came to quickly and was spoken to softly , she had to understand somehow it was the key to her survival.She tried to focus in on it, but she couldn't she had to get him off of her, she had an idea but if it didn't work it would definitely cost her life. Move..she thought zoning in on her legs.....move,move,move!She felt a tingle in the right one, she collected what energy she could muster and kicked out with all her might.Her assailant released her from they're deadly liplock eyes watering in pain, she took a breath and instantly felt better her thoughts became her own again, but there was still a buzzing.She was being ordered to do something but still did not understand one word kept popping and she took it to be a order she had to give it shape, voice.
      "Inferno" she whispered her throat raw from her earlier strangling and the tight grip still around her throat . Nothing appeared to happen the word buzzed louder in her head.
            "INFERNO ! " She shouted and then it happened she felt warm very warm heat coursed through her she forgot her pains and let herself be taken over.
     Anger poured through him the pain in his crotch dulling he decided to end the pleasantries and get to business.Then he felt it fire nawed at him burning his fingers where he held her suspended by her throat , it spread up his arms ,caressing his face spreading to his chest and heart.It seized him squeezing him he screamed out in agony until his voice left him .He tried to hold on but he couldn't then he was gone. His body smoldered filling the night with smoke but  leaving the woods once again  in tranquility. Maria fainted in exhaustion not able to fathom what she had just done,simply thankful to have her life .Her body slumped into dreamless sleep next to the pile of dust which was all that remained of her would be killer.
     Out of the darkness came a figure wearing a cloak he looked at the sleeping figure and saw that she was worn but not otherwised damage.He let out a sigh happy he had gotten there in time to be of some help he would protect her for now.
   Let her sleep the sleep of the innocent , one I will never know .He thought then took a seat and tried to relax while waiting for morning...
